The Community Arts Programs Officer role sits within the Community Arts, Culture and Library Services department of the City of Greater Dandenong.

The Community Arts Programs Officer oversees the implementation of innovative arts participation programs at Council’s cultural and community venues. They will deliver vibrant and innovative projects, programs and activities that are relevant to the City of Greater Dandenong community maximise participation in the arts.  The successful candidate will develop an understanding of the local arts environment with a view to fostering a strong interrelationship between the venues, educational institutions, arts industries, tutors and the local community.

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification or relevant experience in art and cultural development or a related discipline.  The will have a demonstrated understanding of arts and cultural programming, community arts engagement and audience development.

You may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical) or aptitude testing.

The successful candidate will be asked to produce a clear Working with Children Check and will be asked to consent to a national police check (and where relevant an ‘international criminal history check’), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
